Detectives with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office and Morehead City Police Department received information that Tyndall was receiving prescription medication and illegal narcotics through the U.S. mail. Detectives contacted the post office in Cedar Island where the suspected items were being shipped. Detectives confirmed that there was a package there for Tyndall and Detectives began surveillance assisted by detectives from the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office and the Havelock Police Department.
On October 19th Tyndall traveled to the Cedar Island Post Office and was confronted by detectives as he received two packages containing drugs. The first package contained 537 Xanax pills which is a Schedule IV controlled substance and the second package contained approximately 20 grams of high grade marijuana. The Xanax had been shipped to Tyndall from Colorado and the marijuana was shipped from Oregon.
Tyndall was charged with Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Schedule IV (Xanax), Possession with Intent to Manufacture Sell and Deliver Schedule VI (marijuana), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was placed in the Carteret County Jail under a $50,000.00 secured bond and has already had his first court appearance.
