On 11/06/2015 and 11/09/2015 Carteret County Deputies arrested James Morton Mills, 41, of 1410 Hibbs Rd, Newport and Charles Scott Webb, 25, of 3403 Taylor St, Morehead City on numerous drug charges in connection with manufacturing and selling drug laced candy that wound up in the hands of high school students. The arrests are a result of a joint narcotics investigation with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office and Morehead City Police Department detectives.
Charles Scott Webb faces nine charges; two counts of PWIMSD marijuana, two counts of manufacturing marijuana, two counts of Manufacture, Sell, Deliver, Possess marijuana within 1000 feet of a school, two counts of manufacture, Sell, Deliver, Possess marijuana within 1000 feet of a child care facility, and one count of maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for marijuana. Webb is being held in the Carteret County jail under a $50,000.00 bond and his first appearance is scheduled for Monday, 11/09/2015.
James Morton Mills faces four charges; one count each of PWIMSD marijuana, manufacturing marijuana, maintaining a dwelling or vehicle for marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Mills was held in the Carteret County jail under a
$10,000.00 bond and his first appearance is scheduled for Monday, 11/09/2015.
